Beansntatersmama

This blog will be written by a stay at home mom/student. I am trying to enjoy every minute of life I get and raise my children to be happy with what we have been given. Anything written here will be by me, for my well being and piece of mind. I want to open other peoples eyes, and let them see that we can make it on less.

Spicy rice!!

This is a picture of my husbands garden from this previous summer. I had added a picture because the salsa that I used in this recipe was grown in this garden.(and the garden picture looked better than the sloppy pict of the actual meal) So anyway my husband loves to eat unhealthy, he loves fast food, and greasy food, and meat. We always have meat.He prefers to only eat chicken when it's fried or sometimes in chicken and dumplings. He loves dirty rice from Bojangles so I have concocted my own which surprisingly to me he laps up like a cat eating ice cream. So I will tell you how to throw together some spicy rice pretty easily and in under thirty minutes.
You will need: 2-3 cups cooked rice
1 pint of salsa I used homemade
1 teaspoon chili powder or more if you like it hot hot hot!
1/2 lb browned sausage
1 to 2 tsp of hot sauce
Brown sausage, add all other ingredients and simmer till heated through. Serve with tortillas and a veggie. Yummy!!! This was great tonight considering we both have the crud, it opened my head right up.
